"Forgiveness of others, especially family members and friends, is a liberating act of self-love. We are not held back by the love we didn't receive in the past, but by the love we refuse to extend in the present."

Life is too short to brood in anger, frustration, or resentment, sulking about the pain others are causing you. It is important to fully acknowledge and honor your feelings to the fullest when they show up (you have the right to them, whatever they are), but then you when you have done so, you also have the power to distinguish the true nature and source of these feelings and to reframe your experience into a simple choice. Where do I go from here that will be effective and work best for me? Extending genuine compassion, forgiveness, love, understanding always produces the best and most effective result - always. Remember:

"Holding onto resentment of another person is like taking poison and waiting for them to die."
